Purpose of the block.

The SM-SKZ-TM universal control and automation block (DonCont) can be used for any single-phase transformer device (rectifier) of cathodic protection with a rectifier assembled according to a bridge or full-wave circuit with two control thyristors.

The SM-SKZ-TM block (Doncont) allows you to control the operating modes and implement the functions of automatic stabilization of parameters (output current and protective potential). This one may be programmed for characteristics of the concrete CP rectifier and activate programmable protection functions (current limited, overload etc.)

Compatibility of the block with cathodic protection devices (rectifiers).

The connector of the block is fully compatible with the connector of the KATRON-1, KATRON-1M, UNICONT and KATRON-SKZ controllers and does not require additional switching when used in cathodic protection devices (rectifiers) under the control of these controllers.

To connect the block to cathodic protection devices (rectifiers) with other types of control units, it is necessary to additionally order a special switching kit including a switching harness with a connector, a power source and a measuring shunt (75 mV 100 A).

Block functionality.

The control block provides the following parameters and operating modes:
- output voltage/current control of the device, in the range from 2 to 100%;
- accuracy of automatic stabilization of the output current and/or the protective potential - 2.5%;
- measurement of the output current of the power source in the range from 0 to 100%;
- measurement of the output voltage of the power source in the range from 0 to 100%;
- programming of hardware limiting of rated current and voltage, overload protection for a standard series of nominal powers of cathodic protection devices (rectifiers): 0.3; 0.6; 1.2; 2.0; 3.0 and 5.0 kW;
- automatic reconfiguration of the operating modes of the device (rectifier) of cathodic protection when it is impossible to stabilize the protective potential or output current due to technological failure in the CP system;
- indication of the accident on the excess of the rated output voltage;
- indication of overload on the excess of the rated output current;
- automatic limitation of the output current of the device at a value of not more than 1.1 of the nominal value;
- indication of operating time;
- indication of protection time (operation in the established mode);
- indication of the output voltage of the device;
- indication of the output current of the device.
